Tomorrow I start my skim coat. Skim coat is the final coat of mud. Basically, the walls and ceilings get rough sanded and then the mudding really begins. It is amazing exercise, skim coating. You put the drywall compound on and then with your trowel, you essentially take it off leaving a very thin layer to finish. After skim coats comes a very light sanding with a 120 grit sandpaper.
